The organising authority is ‘Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta’ affiliated to the Grenada Yacht Club who is sanctioning the regatta
The Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta takes pleasure in inviting you to compete in the second annual Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta.
This is a "gentleman's race" and any yacht being sailed in an aggressive or reckless manner or displaying poor seamanship may be excused from further participation.
The completion of a single race will constitute an event.
RULES
The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing of ISAF (2009 - 2012), this notice of race and by the sailing instructions.
ADVERTISING
The event will be Category "A" as specified in ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code.
The event organizers may require boats to display advertising in accordance with regulation 20.3.
ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
The Regatta is open to boats of the following Classes that may get subdivided:
Classic Division: CSA Simplified Rating Rule
Spirit of Tradition Division: CSA Rating Rule
Vintage Division: CSA Simplified Rating Rule
Please note that the Spirit of Tradition Division requires a full and current measurement certificate. Contact the committee for details.
CSA classes must have a valid 2008 CSA rating certificate. Only digitally certified certificates are considered valid.

Eligible boats may enter by sending their request on line by filling out the form on our website www.grenadaclassicregatta.com or by sending an e¬mail request to shipwrights@spiceisle.com no later than Wednesday February 18th, 2009 but preferably before.
Registration can also be completed the day before the regatta, Thursday, February 19th 2009 at Bel Air Plantation, St. David’s Harbour.
FEES
Fees can be paid with credit card or cash in the regatta office located at Bel Air Plantation, St. David’s Harbour, Grenada, until the last registration day Thursday, February 19th, 2009.
All entry fees are quoted in US Dollars, however, payment may be made in US or EC Dollars.
Fees for all classes are US $100 per boat. Entry fees include the participation fees of the regatta, complimentary cocktail parties for captains and crew members on Friday February 20th and Sunday February 22nd, at Bel Air Plantation, St. David’s Harbour. In addition, each Captain will receive a Skipper’s Package, which includes the Official Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta canvas tote bag containing T- shirts, logo key fob and assorted souvenirs of Grenada, along with the Notice of Race, Course Map, Sailing Instructions and Schedule of Events.
SCHEDULE
Registration
Thursday, February 19th from 13.00 to 18.00 hrs at Bel Air Plantation, St David’s Harbour
For simplified classes, each entry form by this time must have attached a filled in CSA simplified rating form.
Skippers Briefing
The Skippers Briefing will take place at Bel Air Plantation, St David’s Harbour on Thursday February 19th at 18.15 hrs.
Races
The scheduled time of the first Warning Signal for races on Friday February 20th, Saturday February 21st and Sunday February 22nd will be at 9:50 hrs.
COURSES
The race courses will be on the south coast waters of the Island of Grenada.
Sailing instructions and course details will be available at registration.
SCORING SYSTEM
The Low Point scoring system, RRS rule A4.1 will apply. A boat's score will be the total of all her races. This changes RRS rule A2.
PROTESTS
Protests are NOT encouraged. Good sportsmanship and common sense should prevail. Competitors are reminded that larger traditional yachts are not noticeably manoeuvrable.
Safety should be given utmost priority. If absolutely necessary, protests shall be lodged in accordance with RRS 61.
BERTHING
Boats may anchor free of charge in St David’s Harbour for the duration of the Regatta. Saturday evening boats may moor up free of charge at Le Phare Bleu, Petite Calivigny.
PRIZES
When competing in the Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta, a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in each class can be won for the event.
Overall trophies may be handed out and a perpetual trophy will be reserved for the overall winner of each year’s event. The perpetual trophy will remain on display at Bel Air Plantation
OTHER INFORMATION
Multiple headsails may be flown, provided they are the vessel's normal headsails, listed as such, declared on the Entry Form and have hanks or furling luff tape, or are part of the original designed sail inventory.

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta, the Grenada Yacht Club and any other party involved in the organization and conduct of the Grenada Classic Yacht Regatta will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
